APPELLATION: Toscana Rosso IGT

UGA: San Casciano

GRAPE VARIETIES: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese

SOIL: Rocky limestone soil with clay and a high presence of galestro, the distinctive schistous rock typical of the Chianti Classico area.

HARVEST: Hand-picked grapes with a double selection. The fruit comes from vineyard parcels with different exposures, carefully selected to provide balance, complexity and depth to the wine.

VINIFICATION: The grape varieties are vinified separately. After destemming, the grapes are transferred into stainless steel tanks, where they undergo a 72-hour cold maceration at approximately 5°C. As the temperature gradually rises, alcoholic fermentation begins at controlled temperature and lasts for approximately fifteen days, with regular pump-overs and délestage. At the end of fermentation, the wine remains in contact with the skins for a further seventy-two hours of maceration. Each lot then undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks before being transferred to tonneaux.

AGEING: Twelve months in 500-litre tonneaux, followed by at least six months of bottle ageing.

BOTTLING: July 2024.

ALCOHOL: 14% vol.

TASTING NOTES: Deep ruby red in colour. The bouquet is broad and complex, revealing aromas of ripe fruit, sweet spices and delicate balsamic notes. On the palate, it is rich, elegant and well structured, supported by balanced tannins and lively salinity that lead to a long, fresh and persistent finish.
