APPELLATION: Chianti Classico DOCG
UGA: San Casciano
GRAPE VARIETY: Sangiovese
SOIL: Clay-limestone.
HARVEST: Hand-picked with double selection of the grapes from the single vineyard of Montecapri.
VINIFICATION: The grapes are destemmed and transferred to unlined concrete tanks, where a cold pre-fermentation maceration takes place for approximately 48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation then occurs at a controlled temperature for around twenty days, with daily punch-downs and délestage. At the end of fermentation, the skins remain in contact with the wine for a further seventy-two hours of post-fermentation maceration.
AGEING: Twenty-four months in 500-litre tonneaux, approximately 30% of which is in new oak, followed by six months in Slavonian oak barrels and a further minimum of three months of bottle ageing.
BOTTLING: July 2025.
ALCOHOL: 14.5% alc./vol.
TASTING NOTES: Bright ruby red in colour. The bouquet is elegant and complex, with notes of fresh fruit and crunchy cherry, enhanced by a spicy and balsamic finish. On the palate, the wine shows fine, well-integrated and balanced tannins, supported by vibrant freshness that brings energy and remarkable persistence.
