APPELLATION: Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
UGA: San Casciano
GRAPE VARIETY: Sangiovese
SOIL: Rocky limestone with galestro, the characteristic fractured schist of the Chianti Classico region.
HARVEST: Hand-picked with double selection of the grapes.
VINIFICATION: The grapes are destemmed and transferred to stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature for approximately fifteen days, with regular pump-overs and délestage. At the end of fermentation, the skins remain in contact with the wine for a further seventy-two hours of post-fermentation maceration.
AGEING: Twenty-four months in 500-litre tonneaux, followed by a minimum of three months of bottle ageing.
BOTTLING: May 2024.
ALCOHOL: 13.5% alc./vol.
TASTING NOTES: Deep ruby red in colour. The bouquet is complex and balsamic, revealing aromas of ripe cherry, vanilla and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is intense, savoury and harmonious, supported by fine tannins and vibrant freshness that lead to a long, persistent finish.
